Section 508

Section 508 is the 1998 amendment to the Rehabilitation Act, requiring Federal agencies to ensure that information technology is accessible to persons with disabilities.

The Internet, computers, software, telecommunications and multimedia saturate our daily lives. Access to that information technology is no longer a luxury but a necessity. The goal of Section 508 is to remove barriers that limit access.

The www.ilr.org website is Section 508 compliant.

The well known “Bobby Test” is one of a variety of accessibility testing programs created to test web pages to make sure they are accessible.
