Peer Support Counseling

The idea behind peer support is that people with disabilities have the life experience and knowledge to best assist others in learning to become more independent in their communities.

ILR engages in peer support by providing opportunities for people with disabilities to talk, one-on-one or in a group, about life experiences.

We offer:

  • Individual Peer Support
  • Peer support provided via phone, email, virtually, or in person

Groups

  • Disability specific – for example Brain Injury and Parkinson’s
  • Age-specific – for example Youth/Young Adult (16 & up) in
  • Cross-disability for all ages
