Living with a disability is a balancing act; this is an invitation to gain balance, control and greater participation in your life.
Come join others who are seeking to reduce the stress of living with a disability, and gain resiliency. Through learning and practicing forms of mindfulness we can take our disabilities—and our lives-into our own hands. This is an invitation to learn about self-care, become more confident, and lead a healthier, more adaptive life.
What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a way of learning to relate directly with whatever is happening in your life; a way of doing something for yourself that no one else can do for you. It’s working with your own stress and the challenges of everyday life. It’s about becoming more fully yourself, rather than changing who you are.
What will I be doing?
Participants will be engaging in fun and interesting activities and discussions around learning and practicing mindfulness. The activities will have you playing with your senses, while the discussions will deepen the experience.
What might I expect by participating?
- Decreased physical and psychological symptoms
- Increased ability to relax
- Decreased felt experience of pain and increased ability to cope with pain
- Improved energy and attitude for life

- A renewed authority for living well
